This story is an age-old story my granny used to narrate us often.. Jus remembering my granny this day being her 91st b'day..psst we do miss her a lot ..:( But anyways she taught us good morals which we follow till date..! We all used to sit arnd her in the nights n after hearing aleast a single story only then we wud go to bed...psst our kiddo's jus misses all these memorable moments in their life na..? hmmm no joint family's at all..kids in nuclear fmly jus know skool ,all sort of coaching classes n know nothing abt human values in relationships.. though i'm over 40 yrs now ,i cud still remember my dadima's story... jus wanna share wid ya all..:)
Two men both seriously ill ,occupied the same hospital room. One man's bed was near to the only window in the room. Daily for an hour he was allowed to sit up to help drain the fluid from his lungs. The other man has to spend all his time lying flat on his back.
Both the men befriended each other.Never ending talks between them abt their families,friends, places whr they visited and almost everything abt their likes and dislikes.
Every time when the man in the bed near the window cud sit up,he wud pass the time by sharing all the things he cud see outside the window. The man on the other bed began to wait for this moment daily so that he cud be enlivened by all the beauty and colours of the outside world.The man used to describe abt a lovely lake in the park whr ducks n swans played on the water, kids playing on the splashy garden amidst beautiful flowers of every colours and their sweet scent... the other man wud close his eyes n imagine the picturesque scenes he jus described..! Days n weeks passed same like this ...One day ,the nurse came to find the lifeless body of the man by the window who left heaven peacefully in his sleep. Then the man on other bed been shifted to the bed near the window .! Slowly ,painfully he raised himself to look at the real world outside the window.. oops ,it jus faced a blank wall..!! The man called out the nurse and asked her how cud his frnd had described such wonderful things outside this window..?
The nurse responded him saying the man was blind and cudn't even see the wall!
What wud hv compelled him to say such things? " He asked. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."
Moral of the story..: Whatever be the situation , make sure that ur happiness lies in making others happy.. Sharing grief will make them sorrow whereas happiness is doubled when shared! You are rich when you hav all these qualities n no money can buy all these qualities in you..!! We all love you grandma..:):)
